Is Chaweng too busy? Traveling with my teenager, we enjoy being close to shopping and restaurants but also seek a tranquil resort. Any recommendations for September?
We just returned from Chaweng and had a fantastic time. Avoiding Ark Bar and Elephant Beach Club ensured peaceful nights, as that area can get very noisy. We stayed at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort and found it to be just far enough away from the hustle and bustle while still being in the main area.
In April, we stayed at Baan Samui, which was perfect – nice and relaxed, yet close to the shops and restaurants. It was the best of both worlds!
You have two options for accommodation in Chaweng: staying in the bustling heart of the area, where everything is conveniently located, or opting for the quieter end of Chaweng Beach, offering peace during the day and easy access to bars and restaurants. Chaweng boasts a diverse range of bars and restaurants to suit every taste. For example, Elephant Bar is fantastic, offering great food, a lovely setting, amazing fire shows, and good music. It’s low-key in the early evening and becomes busier and more club-like later on. Ark Bar caters to all ages, but the music is louder at the beach area. They also have a more relaxed roadside section with delicious food.
